Speaking of love: You will be responsible for what you post on social media

For the past few days, there has been a debate on Pakistani Twitter regarding a former bank al-Falah activist, which has led to the importance of a very important issue. This is something that companies and companies in Pakistan probably don't pay that much attention to.
What's the matter?
A Bank Al-Falah official tagged the Dawn newspaper correspondent, Hassan Zaidi, and wrote a reply to his tweet about Imran Khan's speech. In response, the bank official used Hassan's highly 'Nazi language', resulting in Hassan not only commenting on social media but also contacting Bank Al-Falah.
Bank Alfalah dismissed its official on Sunday for violating bank policy.
But the matter is not kept here and the rest of the bank's dismissed colleagues are using Twitter to comment. And generally the opinion on the issue is very fragmented, which leads to different questions.
The evolution of social media
Companies and organizations around the world have been formulating their policies regarding social media for the past decade and are changing with each passing day.
After seeing and tackling hundreds of abuses, code of conduct and posts on a daily basis on various social media accounts, one thing is clear that the language bank official used in his tweets is very common on social media. ۔ The abusive language of the mother and sister has become part of the common language, which should come as no surprise.
A few days ago a sir shared a similar post and when it was objected, he said, "I cannot do hypocrisy. I am the owner of a gray person."
Are your personal social media accounts private?
The simplest and easiest answer to this is that if your company has a social media policy, your account will be regulated accordingly.
In many cases the answer is in the negative. Yes you heard that your personal account is not as personal as yours.
So you will say that I did not write where I work.
The answer is simple, in this era it is not so difficult to figure out who works where. For example, it was not difficult for a bank official to find out who worked and where in the bank. Similarly, it was not difficult for a National University of Science and Technology student to find out what they do.
It is important to understand that many of the world's companies, especially companies that operate in the services sector or are involved in public service, are considered very important on social media.
Social media profiles are checked for job creation and posts are monitored on social media after the job. It is now a prerequisite for obtaining a US visa to state your Twitter and Facebook account. Similarly, Pakistan's armed forces also issued a policy regarding personal social media accounts.
So you can understand that your behavior is very important. But the case here goes further than that, as is clear in both examples above. That is, you are abusing your mother and sister for the purpose of trolling strangers, not in a conversation. Or threatens rap to non-women or say they should rap.
Bank Alfalah, on the other hand, stated in its press release that the bank had a zero-tolerance policy against personal attacks and abusive behavior, citing the reason for dismissing its employee. And the bank strictly adheres to the rules and considers the incident to be a serious breach. '
"Employment in this case is not a matter of labor, it is a matter of contract," said Hamid Jalal, a lawyer for corporate affairs. Employment on the contract may be terminated in accordance with the terms of the contract. And the journalists complaining in this matter are not the party. Rather, the employee's conduct is subject to the company's disciplinary rules and regulations. And if the company has taken action under them and processed the process, then nobody can do anything. '
Commenting on the issue, Faria Aziz, a human rights activist working for Digital Rights, said, "Everything that is happening on social media these days needs to be looked at very carefully. That is, you can say that a retweet does not mean promoting it, but you are still responsible. And it will stay connected to you. Whatever is being used. '
Referring to the social media policy of companies, he said, "There should be a policy but whenever there is a code or a policy, there are many problems." Because if we see that the company has made a policy but the employee objected to something of the organization, then it can come to fruition. Then the right of personal expression should not be affected by the policy or code. And also that you do not affect the rights of others in the cycle of protection of one right. So it has to be processed.'
