According to the FIA, Adnan Afzal Qureshi was detained by the Defense Housing Authority of Lahore area on Tuesday by the Cyber ​​Crime Wing and was produced in court on Wednesday.
This is the first arrest by the Home Minister following orders for action against such individuals and groups. Recently, the FIA ​​investigated several people on suspicion of anti-military campaigns on social media, but none of them were arrested regularly.
Authorities say a case has been registered against Adnan Afzal under Articles 20 and 24 of the Pakistan Electronic Crime Act, while the convictions have been registered under Sections 419 and 500 of Pakistan.
In connection with the case against Adnan Afzal Qureshi, FIA investigator Rizwan Arshad told BBC correspondent Hina Saeed that 'this case is not against any PTI activist, it is against the army and Chaudhry Nisar. Was talking too much. '
He said that he was using a very Nazi language about Chaudhry Nisar in relation to the Army and Don Lex. After which this action has been taken. '
Rizwan Arshad said, "After the arrest, it is now being investigated whether this person was working individually or affiliated with an organization and who were behind it."
According to Rizwan Arshad, Adnan Afzal Qureshi has been Chief Coordinator of PTI from 2008 to 2016 in Lahore NA-125.
He also said that no PTI member had approached the FIA ​​regarding Adnan Afzal Qureshi.
FIA Regional Director Cyber ​​Shahid Hassan told reporter Shamila Jafri that the arrest of Adnan Afzal Qureshi was implemented only after obtaining a warrant from the court.
It should be remembered that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had said in the past that the government has no intention of banning social media.
He said that for the past few days, derogatory material against the army was being posted on social media, which was handed over to FIA officials for investigation.
He said FIA officials have tracked 28 accounts that posted derogatory material against the military.
